Layout idea with built in seating
Following an extension to this Victorian terraced house in Chiswick, the builder had left a patio edged with two very narrow raised beds and then steps onto lawn.
One of the raised beds was converted into a built in bench and a patio to catch the sun was built at the end of the garden. A challkboard has been added to a new horiztonal tongue and groove fence.
Timber raised beds were added along one side to allow both adults and children to try their hand at growing stuff, and there are 3 fruit trees between the beds.
A shed is painted dark grey and sits amongst planting on the left side. These photos were taken when the garden was newly planted and will fill out with time.
Two concept ideas were produced - one with paving and one with a built in seating area at the end of the garden.
