The small courtyard garden in Ealing originally had a small patio and a sad looking artificial lawn. We decided to remove the lawn completely and increase the area of paving to make the space more usable, adding generous areas of planting, some in raised beds, and some at ground level for drainage. The paving is a mix of porcelain in two different sizes and a central area of rustic slate. We reused some of the existing plants and then added some new roses, shrubs and perennials for lots of summer colour.
