This front garden in Acton was originally filled with some overgrown shrubs. The brief was to design a garden that looked as if it had always been there, to bring joy whenever the client walked through and to be an asset to the conservation area. Blue-grey granite plank paving and oak setts were used to make a staggered path from the entrance to the front door; oak setts were traditionally used to make roads so have been around a while. There is another gravel path to the side entrance to help with permeability, and a bin store from the Front Yard company which has a green roof.
The hedges along the front boundary were retained and reshaped, and the beds planted with a mix of shrubs, perennials, ferns and grasses. Photos taken when garden was newly planted, so waiting to fill out.
