This wide garden in Ealing already had an extensive patio across the back of the house and a garden building, but nothing between apart from lawn. To catch the sun at the end of the day, a new seating area was added at the end of the garden, with some lovely parasol trees for privacy, and a path was added to reach this, and to create a generous border edge on the left side. The client was also keen to have an arch over a path, so we lined this up with a recess in the garden building, with a stepping stone path through.
The deck in front of the building was extended so that it was less awkward and a small decked area was added near the main patio to house a barbecue.
Ambient lighting extends the use of the garden into the evening.
